What We Believe
We believe that the best way to learn music is with one-on-one, private instruction. Each lesson is tailored individually for the way the student learns best. Our teachers take into account age, experience, personality, and learning style as they develop their approach to each student’s lessons. We teach ages 4 to adults. It’s never “too late” to learn how to play music. Adult learners: check out our dedicated page with specific information just for you!
One-on-one attention
Students in private lessons are better able to learn the type of music they are most interested in. Our teachers can focus 100% of their attention on that one student. That ensures that the student is always learning the correct hand positioning and posture, or fully grasping the music notation or theory topic being learned. If a student has a particular difficulty in one area, the teacher can spend more time on it. Alternatively, if a student is excelling in one area, the teacher can move on.
Our school offers music lessons for students of all ages and abilities, from beginners to very advanced students. We offer a wide selection of lesson formats and approaches including traditional, classical, jazz, rock, contemporary Christian and popular. We also offer the Suzuki Method of teaching as an option for younger piano and violin students.

Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
Our teachers understand that every student has unique musical needs and goals. We also understand that each student responds best to certain teaching styles and methods. We make it a priority to tailor how we teach and what we teach to each student’s needs.
When you enroll at the Music Learning Center (“M.L.C.”) for lessons, your teacher will ask you about your favorite type of music, and set goals to help accomplish whatever musical aspirations you or your child may have. Usually that involves learning the fundamentals with the help of a “method book” that will be carefully chosen with each individual in mind. Today there are a large number of different method books available. Our teachers will choose the one that they think will be best for each student. Method books contain a wide variety of familiar and fun songs. Plus whenever possible, our teachers supplement the method book with additional songs that the student wants to learn. Our teachers are very experienced and know how to maintain student interest and progress. Together, you will develop a plan to achieve your goals. We love beginners, so even if you don’t know where to begin, we can help!
WHAT STYLES OF MUSIC CAN I LEARN?
We teach all styles including popular, classical, rock, jazz, country, worship and blues. We combine the important fundamentals with the music YOU want to play. With approximately 20 teachers at the Music Learning Center, you can be sure to find the best match for you or your child.
ARE YOUR INSTRUCTORS QUALIFIED?
Our instructors are highly qualified, all have teaching experience, and most importantly, they have a passion for teaching. Every teacher at our school has received a college or university degree in music. But being well trained doesn’t automatically make you a good teacher – that’s why we search for instructors who make learning fun while maintaining student interest.
We search throughout the region for the top teachers, those who embody the high values at the Music Learning Center. Most importantly, our instructors strive to adapt their teaching to the approach that will work best for each individual student. Many of our instructors have gone on tours of the USA and Europe and have years of professional performance and teaching experience. In addition to their teaching credentials, our teachers have warm personalities, are extremely friendly, and strive to get to know each student and their parents on a personal level. We search high and low for the BEST teachers, so you don’t have to!
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO LEARN AN INSTRUMENT?
There is no set answer of how long it takes to learn an instrument. With regular practice a basic level of playing can be accomplished in a few months. Most of our students take lessons on a long-term basis because they want to be constantly improving and they find the lessons enjoyable.
I DON’T HAVE ANY MUSICAL BACKGROUND OR ABILITY. CAN I STILL HELP MY CHILD PRACTICE?
Yes. Even if you don’t have a musical background, you can ask the teacher for advice on how to help your child practice. By simply monitoring that they are doing their exercises and playing their assigned songs a certain number of times each day, you can significantly help the student to progress. Parents are encouraged to occasionally sit in on their child’s music lesson to get an idea of the proper way a song should sound, or how the student should be positioning their hands. We suggest doing that once a month if you can. But if not, there are other ways that you can receive that information from the teacher. Each parent/student will have access to our Lesson Management System or “LMS”. From your LMS dashboard you can message with your teacher whenever you have a question about lesson assignments. Messages are saved to your account so that you can refer to them at any time.
